Frequently Asked Questions

O'Donnell Honda Service / Parts Department Most Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q. Do you have any discounts? Did I get my discount?
  • A. We offer discounts on our web site every month as well as coupons we mail on a quarterly basis or as a service reminder. Coupons must be presented to your service advisor at the time of write-up.

  • Q. How long will it take for an oil change?
  • A. It depends on the volume at any given time of day. We do not accept appointments for oil changes and we take customers on a first-come, first-serve basis. We offer 7 designated express service stalls to expedite oil changes and if there are no backlogs, we can normally perform oil changes with a car wash and a complimentary multi-point inspection within 45 minutes.

  • Q. How long will it take (other services)?
  • A. It depends on the work being performed and the shop volume at any given time. Your advisor will be able to give you an idea of when your vehicle will be ready. We also offer free shuttle service to the surrounding area (within 10 miles of dealership) as well as loaner vehicles. (More information below).

  • Q. Will I get a car wash?
  • A. All vehicles receive a complimentary exterior car wash on every service (depending on weather conditions). Our car wash does not perform car washes when the temperature is under 32 degrees.

  • Q. When can I come in for an oil change?
  • A. You may bring your vehicle into service anytime between 7AM and 6PM Monday through Friday and between 7AM and 4PM on Saturdays. We do not take appointments for oil changes and we work on customer's vehicles on a first-come, first-serve basis.

  • Q. Do I need to make an appointment for an oil change?
  • A. No. We do not take appointments for oil changes. Simply bring in your vehicle into service anytime between 7AM and 6PM Monday through Friday and between 7AM and 4PM on Saturdays. We work on customer's vehicles on a first-come, first-serve basis.

  • Q. Will you vacuum my car's interior?
  • A. We do not. To perform an interior vacuum along with our standard complimentary car wash and multi-point inspection would slow down our express service operation and adversely affect wait times.

  • Q. How much will it cost?
  • A. Your service advisor will be able to quote prices for your service as long as the exact work being performed is known (E.G. Brakes, tires, timing belt, etc.). If your vehicle must be diagnosed, we will let you know the price as soon as the specific need on your vehicle is determined.

  • Q. What do dash symbols mean (E.G. A1)?
  • A. The maintenance codes can be found in your owner's manual and in a complimentary flyer offered in our service department.

  • Q. Do you have a shuttle?
  • A. Yes. We have 2 shuttles that will happily take you to your home, work or the local mall as long as it is within 10 miles of our dealership. We will gladly pick you up when the work on your vehicle is completed.

  • Q. How much are tires for my car?
  • A. Tire pricing varies depending on the size of the tire and which brand you choose. We stock a wide variety of Honda original equipment tires as well as all major brand tires. Our web site links you to a tire page which allows you to price your tires of choice complete with taxes, mounting, balancing and a complimentary 2 year road hazard warranty included. We shop the competition to ensure very competitive pricing.

  • Q. When is my next oil change?
  • A. Most Hondas from 2004 and newer include a Maintenance Reminder light on their dash notifying you when service is due. From 2008 and newer, Maintenance Codes would display on the dash telling you exactly what service is due. If your vehicle does not have a maintenance reminder system, your oil should be changed every 5,000 miles.

  • Q. When do I rotate my tires?
  • A. See previous answer. Your maintenance code will tell you when a rotation is due. If your vehicle does not have a maintenance reminder system, tires should be rotated every other oil change.

  • Q. What did I have done to my car?
  • A. Your service advisor will gladly inform you exactly what service was performed and when your next service is due. They will happily answer any question you may have.

    Q. What does this symbol on my dash mean ?

    A. If you drive a newer car (2008 and newer), you have a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) installed. TPMS is an electronic system inside the tire that monitors the air pressure in your tires. If your tires are under- or over-inflated, the TPMS activates a warning light on your dashboard.
